Eligibility conditions

The following are the conditions of eligibility. You need to meet all of them to qualify for a pension:

• You are covered by old-age insurance;
• You have reached the age of eligibility for an old-age pension;
• You have completed a qualifying period of insurance. *
  
• Your insurance contributions have been paid;
• You conform to the income criteria (from retirement age to age of entitlement to an old-age pension).

* Please note that all periods of insurance you accumulated while living in Israel and while you were an Israeli resident, prior to leaving the country are taken into consideration when calculating your qualifying period.

If you have not completed a qualifying period, your eligibility for a special old-age benefit will be considered according to the existing regulations. Your eligibility for an old-age pension under law will be reconsidered if you complete a qualifying period according to law.

Exempt from a qualifying period: divorcée, widow, abandoned wife, married woman whose husband is not covered by old-age insurance.
